Book Bundler Leveling System
We've spent years creating our own leveling system that relies on ranges of difficulty. We believe that reading doesn't happen in a chronological stepwise manner, and that children need both books that are slightly easy for them and books that are slightly difficult to provide a BALANCED system of growth.
We also believe that 'volume of reading material' trumps 'reading specific books'. If you want a well-read child they should read as many books as possible, as often as they can.
Remember, there's no such thing as a child reading the 'right' books.
Factors we take into account when leveling our books
- Interests - example - 1st graders have different interests than 3rd graders
- Word Count - example - less words are for younger readers, more words for older
- Word Complexity - example - harder words for more advanced readers, easier words for beginners.
- Book Type - example - Illustrated books tend to phase out around grade 2.
